Fast Henry Coe Tandem Climb

Seems like my recent entries have all been about some new speed thing.  But when we work hard to bike fast I guess I like to write about it.  Today we did a club ride up Henry Coe on the tandem.  I kind of got the idea to push the pace as we were crossing the bridge.  But then there were a couple of riders on single bikes ahead of us so that sealed the deal.   At the top at the ranger station, Ann sat in the seat of an old farm machine while someone took our photo.  If we look tired, we were.

Here is how our time compared with previous best times.  We took more than 3 minutes off our previous best time on the tandem.

But looking at my heart rate curve, I see I had plenty left since I rarely went into the “Red Zone”.  That means we can set another record. Hum, I think I hear Ann saying OH NO!
